The Governor of NJ is proposing a 8.7% (3.6 million dollar) cut in the Educational Opportunity Fund program! Insane! I told our students about it and I feel a little taken back because not enough of them are upset! We are asking them to at least write letters to their senators and a few asked 'is it mandatory?" WHAT!??? Maybe it's my New Paltz roots... but if you tried to cut the EOP program at New Paltz you better believe there will be protests up and down the entire state of NY. Is it a generational thing? Many of them don't seem like they want to 'fight' for themselves!? I'm confused...
